The answers to today's Quordle, game #865, are…

Sometimes my opening words work incredibly well. This is a strategy I've employed pretty much since I started playing Quordle over two years ago: I open with STARE, DOILY, and PUNCH, which together use 15 of the most common letters in the game, including the five vowels, and with the most of them in their most usual positions. It's a cautious approach, because it will never allow me to score higher than 7/9, but it still makes a loss quite unlikely.

Here, those three words gave me four letters for two quadrants and five for the other two, so I only needed to add two more letters total. In fact, one of those with the repeated N in NYLON, so I really just needed to add the V in CRAVE. Otherwise, it was simply a matter of solving a couple of anagrams, which turned out to be a simple task.
