Here you have a pleasant surprise. A preview of the game for the next one. perfect darkness The reboot was shown during the Xbox Games Showcase at Summer Game Fest 2024.
The long-awaited reboot of the classic Rare franchise, which is now being developed by Crystal Dynamics, was initially teased a few years ago. Now, the game seems to have moved on from its first-person shooter roots to a more immersive simulation experience, and I'm here to support it. Still, the objective-based gameplay and open environments still seem to be intact.
Players will continue to take control of iconic protagonist Joanna Dark as she finds herself on a planet Earth plagued by natural (and potentially man-made) disasters. Your objective in this game is to hunt down a criminal named Daniel Carrington, who shares a name with your boss from the Nintendo 64 original. It remains to be seen whether he is the same character or not.
The level design appears to be decently vertical, and we see Joanna using parkour to climb obstacles, run up walls, and go up and down pipes. Like the original, stealth seems to be highly recommended. But we do see Joanna engage in combat with weapons, gadgets, and hand-to-hand combat. Apparently, she can also perform takedowns on unsuspecting enemies.
Unfortunately, there is still no release date for perfect darkness, but next year is a likely outcome for the first-person shooter. And most likely it will also arrive on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
The original perfect darkness released in 2000 for the Nintendo 64, as a sort of spiritual successor to Golden Eye 007. A sequel followed, Perfect Dark Zero, in 2005 after Microsoft's acquisition of Rare. However, this sequel was not as well received. Both games became playable in 2015. strange repetition, a collection of classic Rare titles that spanned the company's long history.
