Hardware maker PDP has just released the Victrix Gambit Prime, a wired controller that you should potentially consider if you primarily play online multiplayer games.
Officially branded “Designed for Xbox,” Victrix Gambit Prime is compatible with Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and PC. It can be purchased from the official PDP website or from retailers such as Amazon, for $79.99. Unfortunately, it appears to only be available in the US at this time.
The Prime is actually considerably cheaper than its previous model, the Victrix Gambit ($99.99 / £89.99). While both controllers look similar on the surface, the Victrix Gambit Prime trades in a high-quality carrying case for a compact container used to store the extra modules that come with the package.
In terms of additional modules, it seems like a pretty solid package. You'll get four sets of analog sticks (three concave with a high shaft and one additional convex stick), four analog stick gates (two circular, two octagonal), two d-pads, and two back panels to access those remappable back buttons.
Additionally, the Victrix Gambit Prime features five trigger stop settings and input lag reduction via the controller's Dual Core technology, which was also featured on the regular Victrix Gambit. All in all, it sounds like a rich package that is ideal for online multiplayer gaming.
In our original Victrix Gambit review, we praised its modularity and build quality, giving it four out of five stars. We recommend the controller for those who don't have the budget for the more expensive (but still excellent) Victrix Pro BFG.
