I've never played baseball, because here in the UK we play cricket. However, I've watched enough American movies and TV shows to have the knowledge I needed to easily solve this edition of the NYT's Strands puzzle.
The task was made easier because the word MOUND stood out so prominently, and that, combined with the American Pastime theme clue, set me on my way. None of the other answers gave me any problems and I solved this Strands game in super fast time. I doubt many people are worried about this.
