NYT Strands Today (Game #101): The Answers
The answers to today's 101st Strands game are…
- JELLY
- CIDER
- HOLE
- GLAZE
- FROSTY
- CAKE
- POWDERED
- SPANGRAM: DONUTS
- My rating: Moderate
- My score: Perfect
I solved this Strands puzzle without using any hints, but it took me a long time. I'm not really a big donut consumer and several of these answers were unfamiliar to me as fillings or types. CIDER, for example, seems strange to me; CIDER is an alcoholic beverage where I'm from, not a doughnut. CAKE? What is a donut cake? I wouldn't think of buying them by the dozen either, depending on the theme clue: why would you need more than one?
It was actually just the combination of finding JELLY and HOLE by accident that led me to the topic, and then to spangram, at which point things became a lot easier.
As was your day? Send me an email and let me know.
