Sunday is always a good day to play Strands, because at least in my house there is more of a feeling of laziness and doing nothing. If only every day could be like this, huh? Unfortunately, I didn't really enjoy today's installment. I hope your experience is different.

NYT Strands Today (Game #112): The Answers
The answers to today's 112th Strands game are…
- CHILIES
- sizzling
- CHECKERS
- UNDERGROUND
- OUTSIDE
- SONIC
- SPANGRAM: CHAIN LINK
- My rating: Frustrating
- My score: Perfect
The American-centric nature of Strands can be a little frustrating at times. Yes, the game appears in a New York newspaper, so I understand there will be a bias there, but a puzzle like today's just isn't fun for people outside the US.
The theme – me think – they are restaurant chains, although that being the case I have no idea why the spangram is CHAINLINK. What does the 'link' bit refer to? And why is SUBWAY there, when it's a sandwich shop and not a restaurant? Maybe they are just restaurant chains, instead of restaurants… And are SONIC, SIZZLER, OUTBACK and CHECKERS so well known? They may be in the United States, but they're not exactly Burger King. CHILIS was the only one I had heard of, other than SUBWAY, and that was only thanks to The office.
Anyway, I figured it all out through trial and error, but I didn't have much fun doing it. Maybe I'm expecting too much, but it's a shame Strands isn't more inclusive like Wordle usually is.
