NYT Strands Today (Game #225): The Answers
The answers to today's 225th Strands game are…
- DOLLY
- BRIDGE
- TRUCK
- BOXES
- FOAM
- BOX
- TAPE
- BELT
- SPANGRAM: DAY IN MOTION
- My rating: Moderate
- My score: 1 track
It's been a long time since I moved house: 14 years and counting, although I'd moved 10 times in a decade before. And honestly, none of my moves were as organized as the fictional NYT example that provides answers like FOAM, BUNGEE, and DOLLY; Mine were strictly cardboard box, duct tape, and some friends jobs in a rented van.
My relative unfamiliarity with the subject aside, this is a pretty complicated Strands puzzle anyway, with a lot of short words to find. Sure, short words are theoretically easier to figure out than long ones because there are fewer possibilities of where the letters could go, but they can be harder to solve simply because there are a lot of four-letter words on the board, and if you don't know which one It's the concept, you don't know where to start.
As it happens, I got going without help, but I discovered DOLLY first and couldn't imagine how that could relate to 'Get Out of Here!' Adding BUNGEE didn't really help, and only when I found TRUCK and BOXES did everything fall into place. However, I still needed a clue to start in the bottom right corner of the board; This was a tougher game than many we've had recently.
How was today? Send me an email and let me know.
