NYT Strands Today (Game #99): The Answers
The answers to today's Strands game number 99 are…
- COLUMN
- FOLD
- PAGE
- Signature
- FOLIO
- CAPTION
- ARTICLE
- SPANGRAM: NEWSPAPER
- My rating: Easy
- My score: Perfect
Well, I have a bit of an advantage here, as I've worked at several newspapers (and many more magazines and websites) throughout my career. If you've never been a journalist, then answers like FOLIO, BYLINE and FOLD might have been harder to find. But I say “might,” because I suspect this Strands puzzle will be relatively easy to solve even then.
Much of this is due to a combination of the spangram and the theme track, which is 'Print Edition'. There's not much that phrase can suggest, and it probably won't have taken many people long to see the NEWSPAPER running down the center of the board, from top to bottom.
Once this is established, it will probably have been easy to find some of the other more obvious answers, such as TITLE and PAGE, and these, in turn, will have led to the others.
As was your day? Send me an email and let me know.
