NYT Strands today (game #199): the answers
The answers to today's Strands game #199 are…
- KNIFE
- PLIERS
- HAMMER
- SCREWDRIVER
- WRENCH
- LEVEL
- SPANGRAM: TOOLBOX
- My rating: Easy
- My rating: Perfect
Deep in my shed, behind boxes of all kinds, appliances that no longer work and unnecessary cables, covered in dust and surrounded by lots and lots of spiders, there is a box. That box contains my DIY tools. There is a HAMMER, a rusty HAMMER, admittedly, but it is there anyway. There are lots of SCREWDRIVERS, some of which I even use occasionally. There is a LEVEL, a KNIFE, a pair of WRENCHES and some PLIERS, the latter completely rusted and now useless.
So solving this Strands puzzle was simply a matter of thinking about what's hiding in my TOOL BATHROOM. I didn't actually go out looking for it because a) that would be cheating, b) it would be way more effort than I was willing to put into this first hour of the day, and c) those spiders. So many. Spiders.
