NYT Strands today (game #163): the answers
The answers to today's Strands game #163 are…
- DICTIONARY
- THESAURUS
- MANUAL
- ATLAS
- ALMANAC
- SPANGRAM: REFERENCE
- My rating: Easy
- My rating: Perfect
Here's an article for the kids, with five answers that probably few people under the age of 25 will ever have used. OK, that's a bit of an exaggeration; there are obviously online dictionaries. But ALMANAC? MANUAL? ATLAS? I asked my own teenage children (both 14) and they had no idea what an ALMANAC was, at least. They had heard of the other two, but whether they would have thought to guess them is another question.
As an elderly person, I had no such problems and solved this problem fairly quickly. Although, again, I'm not sure I would have been able to solve ALMANAC if it wasn't the only word left when I found it…
