I'm always happy to see a Q in a Strands puzzle. Obviously, the letter is always followed by a U, which drastically reduces the words that can be formed from it. Add to that the fact that very few letters can come before a Q (they're basically vowels or S's, occasionally an R), and these words are usually not hard to figure out.
There were two of them in the Strand today, ESQUIRE and QUEEN, and I found them both without any problems from the start. That confirmed the central theme of the puzzle, which the “Order in the Court!” clue hadn't helped much with, and set me on my way to solving what was otherwise a fairly simple game.
