NYT Strands today (game #155): the answers
The answers to today's Strands game #155 are…
- WEALTHY
- WEALTHY
- OPULENT
- TRIBUTARY
- PROSPEROUS
- SPANISH: THATSRICH
- My rating: Hard
- My score: 3 tracks
Today's Strands was very difficult and I needed a lot of clues for it – three, to be exact. The first one got me started, because I had no idea what “Rolling in it” meant. That gave me MONEYED (although it took me a while to figure out what the word was even after the Strands board had highlighted it for me), but while the concept was now clear, the other words were not.
To make matters worse, I figured out RICH fairly early on, but couldn't figure out what the rest of the phrase was to (presumably) form the spangram. I eventually settled on THATSRICH at the end by default, after having used two more clues to figure out OPULENT and AFFLUENT.
