This is a reasonably complicated Connections puzzle that has nothing to do with Will Smith, even though the first four words on the grid say FRESH PRINCE BEL AIR. Of course, the first thing I do every time I play is use the shuffle function to eliminate any NYT address errors that may be there. I'm not sure if it works, because seeing those four words in different places could suggest a connection to me, so I have to be careful to look at the board before and after shuffling. I take everything too seriously, yes.
Surprisingly, today I solved the purple one first; the white connection there, of LITTLE (TRAMP, PRINCE, MERMAID, RASCALS) was quite obvious, while the blue group of BAR, BEL, LUX and MOLE was much more difficult. Yellow and green were also quite tricky for the supposedly easier groups, so it took me a while to get all the answers.
How was today? Send me an email and let me know.

What are NYT connections?
NYT Connections is one of the increasingly popular word games created by the New York Times. It challenges you to find groups of four elements that share something in common, and each group has a different difficulty level: green is easy, yellow is a little harder, blue is usually quite difficult, and purple is usually very difficult.
On the plus side, you don't technically need to solve the final question since you'll be able to answer it through a process of elimination. What's more, you can make up to four mistakes, which gives you a little breathing room.
However, it's a little more complicated than something like Wordle and there are plenty of opportunities for the game to trip you up with tricks. For example, be careful with homophones and other puns that could disguise answers.
It can be played for free via the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile devices.
