Creatures that disgust me seemed like an obvious category for a group, but it turned out to be correct as earthworms, eels, salamanders, and slugs were all classified as SLIMY ANIMALS.
I once lived in a basement where my roommates and I fought a constant war of attrition against slugs, which somehow found their way into our damp, miserable shack. Although I'm sure many slug lovers would consider it an act of cruelty, we tried to prevent them from entering our abode with lines of table salt at all entry points, but even so, they managed to enter slugs and get past our barricade of sodium and we would find silvery traces on the floor every morning, or worse yet, we would accidentally step on a glutinous mass with our bare feet; A stub between your toes is not something you would want to experience, believe me.
The solution was obvious: use CLOG or move.

What are NYT connections?
NYT Connections is one of the increasingly popular word games created by the New York Times. It challenges you to find groups of four elements that share something in common, and each group has a different difficulty level: green is easy, yellow is a little harder, blue is usually quite difficult, and purple is usually very difficult.
On the plus side, you don't technically need to solve the final question since you'll be able to answer it through a process of elimination. What's more, you can make up to four mistakes, which gives you a little breathing room.
However, it's a little more complicated than something like Wordle and there are plenty of opportunities for the game to trip you up with tricks. For example, be careful with homophones and other puns that could disguise answers.
It can be played for free via the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile devices.
