The first preview of One piece Season 2 has arrived and practically confirms the story the season will tell and which characters will appear in it.
The preview was a video uploaded to TikTok, in which Iñaki Godoy celebrated Monkey D. Luffy's birthday with a cake that looks like a large candle. That cake had a candle on top, which was shaped like the number three, and it's almost certainly a big clue as to which story arc we'll see this time around.
Where is Netflix One piece The first season followed the East Blue story from the manga, the trailer suggests that we will follow the Alabasta story arc. This focused on the Baroque Works crime syndicate, which features a series of villains named after numbers and holidays, including one Mr 3, who, as IGN notes, can create and control candle wax.
Netflix teaser practically confirms fan speculation
One piece Fans were already pretty sure that the next season would follow Alabasta's story arc, especially since there was a reference to him at the beginning of the first season. A red-haired Baroque Works character named Mr 7 appeared in one of the opening scenes of the first season and was quickly killed by Zoro.
That raises the tantalizing possibility that we'll see a lot of Baroque Works baddies this time around. And there are many of them, male agents are assigned numbers and female agents are given vacation time, so in addition to Mr. 0's brain, there are agents Mr. 1, Mr. 2, Mr. 3, Mr. 4 and Mr. 5, as well as Miss All Sunday. Miss Doublefinger, Miss Goldenweek, Miss Merry Christmas and Miss Valentine, among others.
Since each character has their own strange abilities, there's room for a lot of fun here. And there could be more: Fans are hoping that Tony Tony Chopper, a shape-shifting reindeer absent from the first season, may also appear.
Other details are still under wraps, but we expect the second season to begin filming this summer for a streaming release in 2025; It's a long wait for the return of one of the best Netflix shows in recent years, but it will be worth it, we hope.
