With kung fu panda 4 Currently in theaters, it's a good time to catch up on the previous installment in the fun and entertaining franchise, which once again stars Jack Black as Po, the lovable panda of the title. This time around the cast also includes Bryan “Walter White” Cranston, Kate Hudson, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen and JK Simmons, and it's a surprisingly moving film with some emotional hits among the martial arts madness.
Is Kung Fu Panda 3 worth streaming?
Yes. Franchises tend to lose steam, and that's particularly true with successful children's animations. But the third Panda The film bucks the trend and has a strong 86% on Rotten Tomatoes. A big part of its success is, of course, Jack Black's enormous charisma, but the writing is good too. As Jennifer Heaton of Alternative Lens writes, “it doesn't have the originality of the first film or the audacity of the second, but it still has heart where it counts.”
The movie isn't really groundbreaking, but it's still a fun experience. The Independent says that “It may offer exactly the same mix of chaos, noodles and dumplings as the first two films in the series, but Kung Fu Panda 3 is still an energetic and wildly entertaining film.” And ContactMusic found that it improved over the first films in some ways: “Both the writing and animation are especially strong this time around, drawing in broader themes while also keeping things exciting and very silly.”
“It's not a tired recycling,” states The Age, maintaining that “the film cleverly reinforces and expands on what has been done before.” And the New Zealand Herald says: “It's clever, colourful, easy fun for the whole family.”
