Netherrealm Studios has announced the Chaos reigns expansion for Mortal Kombat 1, which includes a new story mode, the introduction of Kombat Pack 2, as well as the return of a fan-favorite feature from past series.
The four-minute long trailer for the Chaos reigns The expansions showcase the new story mode, in which a version of Havik from a different (and likely even more complicated) timeline takes center stage as the main antagonist. Naturally, it's up to the series' roster of slashing warriors to put a stop to his plans.
As always, Netherrealm's penchant for high graphical fidelity and gratuitous violence is on full display here, so Mortal Kombat 1 Fans will likely end up enjoying this new story content when Chaos reigns Launches September 24, 2024.

In addition to the new story, Chaos reigns We will also see the introduction of Kombat Pack 2. Like the first one, this one will see a total of six characters added to Mortal Kombat 1 as downloadable content. Three of them (Sektor, Cyrax and Noob Saibot) will arrive on launch day.
There will then be three guest characters whose release dates have not yet been announced. Laughter Ghostface, Conan the Barbarian (with the image of Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Terminator 2: Judgement Day T-1000 (played by Robert Patrick). Chaos reigns The bundle will also include the first Kombat Pack featuring Quan-Chi, Ermac, Takeda, Omni-Man, Homelander, and Peacemaker.
Finally, Chaos reigns is reintroducing a fan-favorite feature as a free update: Animalities. If you didn't know, these are special Fatality animations where your fighter transforms into a creature to brutally dismember your opponent at the end of the match. The trailer shows off a hyena, a pufferfish, a predatory mantis, and more, and they're all predictably gruesome.
