Astronomical robot Creative director Nicolas Doucet has confirmed that the game will be getting free DLC that could include a new set of VIP bots that were seen in the credits but are currently missing from the base game.
The news comes via an interview with Doucet of YouTube channel Quest Daily. The director says the DLC additions will be free and coming this year, and will add new levels and speedrun stages that offer a greater challenge, along with all-new leaderboards.
Most interestingly, Doucet says the DLC will add new collectible VIP Bots, and that they will be “some characters we haven't included yet.” Astronomical robot's Credits – as highlighted by VGC – show a number of credited games and series that do not appear in the base game.

Astronomical robot goes out of its way to pay homage to PlayStation's legendary back catalogue – I certainly wasn't expecting deeper cuts like Devil's Dice, Incredible Crisis and Smart Qube – but there are some notable omissions such as Final Fantasy and Twisted metal that have not currently made it to the list despite having appeared in previous titles such as Astro's Playroom.
It is not clear exactly how long this roadmap will last. Astronomical robot The game currently has a lot of post-launch content, but as it's one of the highest-rated games of the year, it's easy to imagine Team Asobi providing new updates as long as there's interest from players.
