Microsoft has Announced the general availability of new backup and security tools to address the growing threats of ransomware attacks and the underlying data they affect.
Microsoft 365 backup enables businesses to store critical active data that, in the event of a cyberattack or other disruption, can be used to ensure business continuity at a much faster pace than migration-based backup.
Microsoft 365 backup storage provides developers with a means to implement the same Microsoft 365 backup benefits within their own third-party storage. backup solution using an integrated application.
Fast business backup
Backups are kept out of the reach of attackers by keeping them within the Microsoft 365 confidence boundary, while delivering frequent recovery points, fast backups, and low average recovery times even at massive scale across all Microsoft 365 data sources.
Unlike traditional high-volume backup and restore methods, such as migration-based backups, customers can expect a bulk restore to be 20 times faster based on Microsoft research. The backup solution is offered as a standard, pay-as-you-go service with no additional licensing requirements.
For 365 Backup Storage, Microsoft offers this service to independent software vendors (ISVs) for use when building third-party backup applications, providing them with physical redundancy, data-resident compliance, and versioned restore points that come as part of the Microsoft 365 Backup Storage solution.
