Marvel has reportedly found his replacement Steven Yeun for their next film. Good heavens movie.
First revealed by industry insider Daniel RPK and picked up by The Hollywood Reporter (THR), Lewis Pullman has been cast in the role of Sentry, aka Bob Reynolds, in the superhero film. Yeun was originally going to play the super-powered individual, but he left the project in early January. Programming issues are believed to be the main cause behind the Invincible departure of the star.

Rumored to begin principal photography in March, Yeun's withdrawal left Marvel scrambling to find a replacement. However, just weeks after Yeun's departure seemingly plunged Marvel into a new casting crisis, the Disney subsidiary landed a worthy replacement in Pullman.
The 30-year-old may not be an immediately recognizable face to most, but the son of acclaimed actor Bill Pullman has delivered numerous excellent performances in recent years. Most recently, he starred alongside fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) star Brie Larson in a highly rated Apple TV Plus series. chemistry lessons – a breakout role that earned him a 2024 Critics Choice Award nomination.

Praying that lightning doesn't strike twice
Pullman's hiring hasn't been unofficially confirmed by Daniel RPK and THR (he's only believed to have been offered the role), so it's unclear if he'll be the latest star to join the Marvel movie giant.
The comic giant hopes, however, that lightning does not strike twice in the same place. It would be a huge headache if Pullman agreed to appear, only to leave like Yeun did or, worse yet, turn down the role just weeks before filming. Good heavens apparently it's about to begin. The Marvel Phase 5 project was first announced in July 2022, but has not yet entered full production due to the 2023 Hollywood actors and writers strikes. Last year's industrial action caused principal photography (and, therefore, its release date) will be delayed several times.
However, Thunderbolts is far from the only MCU project that has been beset by problems. Phase 5 movie companion Blade has spent the last few years in production hell, Captain America 4 and Iron heart have been delayed due to reshoots, and Daredevil: Born Again has been revised after Marvel decided to rework the entire Disney Plus show following reports that it didn't live up to expectations.
Add in the firing of Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror after he was found guilty of multiple charges of domestic abuse, two major box office flops in 2023 and reports of crises endured by overworked visual effects artists, and Marvel's reputation has received a hard blow. the last 12 months. With strikes, production delays, and casting issues seemingly behind us, the studio will be praying for a much calmer 2024, and securing Pullman's services would be a good start.
