- Apple is experiencing delays in shipping the MacBook Neo
- Orders from Apple's online store are not expected to ship until mid-April.
- This demand is attributed to first-time Mac owners, making it the biggest Mac launch for Apple.
Have you ordered your new MacBook Neo yet? Well, I advise you to get Apple's budget laptop sooner rather than later as it is experiencing shipping delays everywhere.
Following its launch on March 11, the MacBook Neo has proven to be one of Apple's most popular products in recent years, but it seems that the tech giant has not been able to keep up with the growing demand that comes with it. As a result, shipping delays are increasing and now you may not be able to get a MacBook Neo until mid-April at the earliest.
According to 9to5Mac, all configurations of the MacBook Neo are sold out in the US and won't ship until April 6-13 when you order from Apple's online store, pushing shipping dates back a good two to three weeks.

Apple's UK online store shows similar dates, with most models shipping between April 9 and April 16. Depending on which version of the Neo you choose, you could look to ship your device between April 16 and April 23; This is primarily for the MacBook Neo with Blush finish and applies to the 256GB and 512GB models. Ordering from your local Apple Store may not be the best idea either, as in-store pickup dates are also being pushed back.
Waiting until next month to get your hands on what will undoubtedly become one of the best budget laptops isn't ideal, but a few weeks ago we predicted that Apple would sell them in batches, and that's it. But despite the frustrating delays, it reveals something monumental for Apple as a company, all thanks to first-time Mac customers.
For the first time, the launch of a MacBook has given rise to a demand that is really only seen with the launch of a new iPhone. Apple CEO Tim Cook called it the “best launch week ever” for the Mac, which was driven by first-time MacBook owners. This can be attributed to the MacBook Neo's affordability, giving users who wanted to convert to Mac a better entry point, but could never justify the high price. But Neo has also done a stellar job of attracting casual users and students.
Like us, Reddit users were also anticipating demand, with one describing the MacBook Neo as “such a stylish laptop,” garnering a slew of responses agreeing that it will be a big hit among academics, especially come September. Not only that, but Apple's budget laptop has given users more reasons not to opt for an iPad, which costs about the same as the MacBook Neo but requires purchasing a separate keyboard and other accessories, which aren't cheap.
With this in mind, purchasing a MacBook Neo from your nearest Apple store may be your best option if you don't want to wait almost three weeks for one to arrive. Alternatively, you can try other retailers such as Amazon, which offers same-week shipping. Unfortunately, the MacBook Neo is out of stock on Amazon UK, so heading to the Apple store is your best option at the moment.
