One of the current problems with foldable phones is that they have visible creases where the screen folds, and based on the latest leak, it doesn't look like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is going to solve that problem.
Leaked photos of a dummy unit of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 were shared on X by @ta__tech (via Phone Arena), who apparently found them on a South Korean forum, and the fold is very visible. It is not clear if it has reduced, but it is definitely still present.
That's the bad news, but there are also some good things suggested in these images, as this Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 dummy unit has a barely visible hinge, so when folded it could almost be mistaken for a non-foldable phone.
Found on a Korean forum, this is apparently the Galaxy Z Fold 6. The square edges make a difference and the slightly shorter but wider interior screen makes it look different from the Fold 5. pic.twitter.com/v8LPICeRRnMay 29, 2024
The cover screen is also wider here than on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, which makes it look more like a conventional smartphone screen and should make interacting with it more pleasant.
By widening the cover screen, Samsung has also made the large folding screen wider and shorter (when held in portrait orientation), and the corners of the phone are less curved, giving the device a more angular, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. . Those last two points are not necessarily good or bad, but simply changes.

In any case, we'd take these photos with a pinch of salt, but aside from the visible crease, they line up with leaked renders of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, and the dummy units tend to be accurate (assuming they're genuine). as accessory manufacturers use them to design cases before a phone is released.
On the other hand, @ta__tech has no history of leaks and they say they don't know how accurate this information is.
So there's still some hope that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 won't have too many wrinkles, but we wouldn't count on that. The phone is rumored to arrive on July 10, so we may know for sure then. We're also likely to see the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, Samsung Galaxy Watch 7, and other devices at the Z Fold 6 launch, so it'll be a crowded event.
