Gigabyte has a bunch of motherboards in the works for Intel's next-gen Arrow Lake processors, and they come with a not-surprising twist: the inclusion of AI (well, everything has to have AI these days, right?).
The leak of eight Gigabyte Z890 motherboards for Arrow Lake is also revealing because it is another leak that hints at a launch that will happen sooner rather than later.
Of course, we must be careful with the source here, since we do not know it. As Wccftech pointed out, it's a Persian tech site called Faceit.ir, so add plenty of seasoning, although the details apparently come from a local Gigabyte distributor.
Some of the model names include Gigabyte Z890 Aorus Xtreme AI TOP and Z890 Master AI TOP, so we can safely assume that this indicates some AI-related feature. (Especially since there are basic versions of these boards without the AI TOP naming scheme.)
Perhaps AI TOP motherboards will offer BIOS options to fine-tune the AI acceleration available with desktop Arrow Lake processors? It is a small leap, but quite logical, but there is another possibility.
Prevailing rumors
The alternative possibility is that motherboards could incorporate AI to help tune and modify their Arrow Lake CPU for full performance. Well, what could go wrong with that idea (ahem)?
Anyway, all we can do is speculate at this point and for all we know, this leak could be a fabrication, or the AI's name could be some Gigabyte trick.
Whatever the case, with all the leaks that have emerged lately around Arrow Lake, the prevailing rumors now seem to be blowing in the direction of an earlier-than-expected launch for Intel's next-generation desktop silicon.
Maybe we'll even see an initial reveal at Computex 2024, which will happen next month (although it won't be a launch as such, of course, since the Core Ultra 200 processor family definitely won't arrive until later in 2024). ).
