This year's Xbox Games Showcase has finally given us an official release window for Fable.
The fantasy role-playing game (RPG) is being developed by Playground Games in collaboration with Eidos Montreal and is shaping up to be one of the biggest Xbox console exclusive games of the coming years.
It is scheduled to arrive in 2025 and will be released for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC. During the same presentation, it was also confirmed that the game will be available as part of Xbox Game Pass immediately upon release.
All of this new information came alongside a new trailer for the game, which focused on the recently revealed character Humphrey, a former hero played by British comedian Matt King. Humphrey is forced out of a peaceful retirement by the protagonist's actions, and he doesn't seem too happy about it. You can see the trailer for yourself and experience many FableFeature comedy in the process, below.
The last installment of the feature film Fable franchise, Fable is a reboot that has been described as a “new beginning” for the series. It was originally revealed in 2023 with a short announcement trailer that appeared at a previous Xbox gaming showcase. This was followed by a cinematic trailer featuring a grumpy giant played by actor Richard Ayoade.
Although it's presumably been in the works for some time, we haven't seen a huge amount of the game yet. However, trailers have shown some glimpses of combat, with the protagonist wielding a sword to defeat the bandits. We will be attentive to any news.
