- A leaker has shared what he claims are full specifications for the Samsung Galaxy S26 series
- The only major change appears to be simply a chipset update
- Samsung fans are already expressing their disappointment
At this point, we have a good idea of what to expect from the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, and most of the leaks now match it, and a massive leak of new specifications again suggests that there won't be many changes from last year.
WinFuture has shared the full specifications for the Samsung Galaxy S26, Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and at a glance, you might be hard pressed to see many differences between the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 series phones.
In the case of the Galaxy S26, it apparently has a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 1080 x 2340 resolution, Exynos 2600 chipset, 12GB of RAM, 256GB or 512GB of storage, a 4,300mAh battery with 25W charging, a 50MP main camera, a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom optics, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 12MP front camera.
It is also said to measure 149.6 x 71.7 x 7.2mm, weigh 167g and will be available in white, blue, black and purple shades. For reference, the Samsung Galaxy S25 measures 146.9 x 70.5 x 7.2mm and weighs 162g, which would make the new phone slightly taller, narrower and heavier.
As for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus, it is said to have a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1440 x 3120 resolution, along with a 4900mAh battery with 45W charging and the same cameras, chipset, colors, RAM and storage as the standard Galaxy S26.
This phone is apparently sized at 158.4 x 75.8 x 7.3mm and 190g, compared to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus at 158.4 x 75.8 x 7.3mm and 190g.
Finally, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra apparently has a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1440 x 3120 resolution, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, 12GB or 16GB of RAM, 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of storage, a 5000mAh battery with 60W charging, a 200W wide camera. MP, a 50 MP Ultra wide angle, 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom, 50 MP periscope camera with 5x zoom and 12 MP front camera.
Apparently this will also come in white, blue, black and purple shades, which is strange as Samsung usually sells Ultra phones in a different selection of colors to the other models, so WinFuture could be way off the mark there. It is said to measure 163.6 x 78.1 x 7.9mm and 214g, compared to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra's 162.8 x 77.6 x 8.2mm and 218g.
The leak also claims that all three phones have an IP68 water resistance rating and that none of them offer magnetic charging, which contrasts with early leaks that suggested they could have built-in magnets.
New chipsets and more charging power
So what's really changing this year? Well, according to this leak, the main update is simply a new chipset, but the standard model also has a higher capacity battery than its 4000mAh predecessor, and the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra supposedly has more charging power than the S25 Ultra's 45W.
Samsung has also apparently ditched the 128GB capacity for the standard model, and the Ultra is said to have slightly larger apertures for some of its cameras, which WinFuture says suggests the use of a new camera chip, so perhaps it can take slightly better photos.
But that's about it as far as changes go, making these phones, at least according to this leak, very similar to last year's, and the internet is not impressed. On Reddit, one user noted that “every year they change the SOC for a new one and offer new colors,” and another said, “I can't believe they got away with reusing the same design from the S21 with minor changes to the rear camera design, Samsung makes even Apple look innovative.”
One user succinctly summarized the situation as “kind of a snooze party” and another suggested they were giving up on Samsung, saying “it's time to rebrand.”
These are just a few of many such comments, so it's clear that Samsung fans are not happy, although they will be interested to see whether many actually switch brands or not. If you are among those who are not happy with this news, you may want to consider a Chinese phone, as many of them are packed with technology and innovation.
However, if you still have your sights set on one of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series phones, the company will launch them on February 25.
