Intel has announced that it will hold its innovation event at the end of September, and this is likely where we will see the reveal of Arrow Lake, Team Blue's next-generation desktop chips.
VideoCardz reports that Intel has told us the date to mark on our calendars for the annual event, with Innovation 2024 scheduled to take place September 24-25 in San Jose, California.
Over the past few years, Intel Innovation is where we've seen the initial release of Team Blue's Alder Lake processors (2021), then Raptor Lake (2022), and last year Meteor Lake was shown off (as well as Raptor Lake Refresh). .
Please note that these were advertisements and not products going on sale, which always happens a little later.
Given that Intel recently confirmed that a Q4 launch is still in the cards for Arrow Lake (later 2024 has been the target launch timeframe for some time now), late September seems like the perfect place for an initial reveal of the next generation desktop CPUs.
Analysis: up to the Ryzen challenge
In fact, not only does Intel Innovation seem like a likely prospect for this launch, but it's really imperative that Team Blue publicly show off Arrow Lake right now. Well, certainly if the rumors about AMD's next-gen rival processors are correct, and the Ryzen 9000 will apparently hit shelves in July, if the extremely recent rumor gossip is correct. (And it's fair to say that the gossip has been backed up by plenty of other recent chatter, including motherboard makers busy laying the groundwork for those Zen 5 chips.)
If this AMD rumor is confirmed, Intel must be very careful and not delay the launch of Arrow Lake. And in all honesty, even if these processors aren't ready, if the Ryzen 9000 goes on sale in July, Intel will need to make some kind of announcement just to save face, really. If the worst case scenario happens, where will Arrow Lake be? very By the end of 2024, Intel will need to keep up the hype somehow, no doubt.
Intel has some major processors lined up for later this year. Not just Arrow Lake, but let's not forget Lunar Lake for PC Copilot+, which boasts great power efficiency for thin and light laptops, so it could be that the company is planning to launch a big salvo in innovation. In fact, it would seem like a missed opportunity not to, even if Arrow Lake isn't as ready as Intel would like when the fourth quarter is in sight…
