The next Made by Google event is scheduled for August 13, during which we can expect to see a slew of Pixel devices, from new phones to new smartwatches, and a ton of AI features.
The Made by Google event follows the Google I/O 2024 keynote in May, where the search giant talked about the future of Android AI, its Google Gemini AI chatbot, and the super-smart Project Astra — that is, if the latter ever makes it out of the lab.
However, the August event will be all about hardware, with new phones and wearables likely to be the focus. Still, we expect Google to champion plenty of AI features for these new devices.
Read on to find out how to watch the Made by Google event on August 13 and a quick rundown of what to expect.
How to watch the launch of the Google-made Pixel 9

What to expect from the Made by Google event in August
Google has already officially stated that the Google Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be unveiled at the Made by Google event. Therefore, we expect to see the Google Pixel 9 as well.
The Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro aren’t expected to have huge improvements over their predecessors, but images so far show a new horizontal pill-shaped design for the Pro’s rear cameras, and leaked images have shown that the change will trickle down to the standard Pixel 9. A new G-series Tensor chip is also expected, focused on powering the device’s AI tools.
There have been rumors and some details about a Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, which sounds like it will bring a larger display and battery to the next-gen Pixel line. However, it's unclear whether the XL phone, if it's legitimate, will have any unique features beyond the display and battery.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold looks to be a big upgrade over the Google Pixel Fold. Expect a powerful chipset, a new rear camera array that appears to follow the 9 Pro's specs and capabilities, and a tweaked design to make for a slimmer foldable phone that still features a large interior display.
There are also hints that we could expect the rumored Google Pixel Watch 3, which we expect to see improved performance, longer battery life, and a suite of smart features on. And we wouldn’t be surprised to see devices like the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2, which will likely have improved audio over their predecessors but also support Google’s Gemini AI features.
