Hori Puff Bag for Nintendo Switch 2: Review
Do you want to protect your precious new Nintendo console? Then it might be worth checking out the Hori Puff Pouch for Nintendo Switch 2. This soft case is licensed by Nintendo itself and has a variety of compartments to help you organize your gaming gear. So, is it worth purchasing?
Well, if you're not a big fan of hard cases, it might tempt you. Yes, this is a fairly soft model, although it still has a good amount of padding to keep your console safe. You'll find such padding on both sides of the console compartment, which will absorb any impact should you drop the case.
However, there are two other compartments: one in the center of the case and a mesh in the front. These are not protected by much padding. So if you keep accessories in there, they may not be as well protected as they would be in more rugged models like the official Nintendo Switch 2 all-in-one carrying case, found in our guide to the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories.
Still, there's plenty of room to store the power cable and adapter and a couple of other devices, like the official Nintendo Switch 2 camera and a Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller, for example. As a medium sized case, this is not In fact big enough for your dock; I was able to fit it in, but it fit a little. In addition to the three main compartments, there are also six slots for Nintendo Switch 2 or original Switch games, which isn't the most I've seen, but plenty if you're going on a short trip.
When it comes to the design of this case, I have pretty mixed feelings. One thing I like is the handle, which adjusts in length when you pick it up, as seen on the Hori Adventure Pack for Nintendo Switch 2. The handle also flows around the edge of the case, meaning you can pick up the case on its side if you prefer. On top of that, the zipper is secure and a hook-and-loop closure inside the case effectively keeps the console in place.
However, I'm not a big fan of how this looks. It reminds me of a bag, and not a particularly elegant one. The boxy design, the soft feel, the puffy look… it just doesn't do it for me. Another thing worth noting is that the fabric exterior is very prone to collecting dust and fibers, which is not a problem I face with the official Nintendo Switch 2 carrying case and screen protector.
Despite that, overall it's still a pretty well priced case. The Puff Pouch has a list price of $29.99 / £24.99 / AU$49.95, but I've seen it for less in some territories – it's as low as £17.50 at some UK retailers. Is it the most durable or stylish case I've ever tried? No. But the Hori Puff Pouch should still keep your console nice and secure, and provides a very decent amount of storage; soft case lovers should at least consider it at this price.

- Tested by a Nintendo Switch 2 owner and lifelong gamer
I tested the Hori Puff Pouch for Nintendo Switch 2 for a couple of days, using it as the primary means of transportation for my system. I also tried fitting a couple of accessories into the case, including the Hori Piranha Plant Camera for Nintendo Switch 2 and a couple of third-party controllers.
To test the durability of the case, I made sure to drop it from various distances and give the outside a good scrape. After this, I took a look for wear and tear to see if the model was as durable as advertised on Nintendo's online store. I also compared this case to its rivals in aspects such as storage space and looks.
More generally, I'm a day-one Nintendo Switch 2 owner, a lifelong gamer, and a seasoned tech reviewer. I also reviewed a lot of Switch 2 accessories: I'm talking about everything from cases to screen protectors like DBrand Prism 2.0 and cameras like Hori USB Camera.
