- Apple Home is now compatible with the robot vacuum cleaners enabled for matter
- Assuming that her vacuum is compatible, she could soon be saying: 'Siri, aspires the kitchen'
- It has been a long time, since the support was originally promised at the end of 2024
If you have been dreaming with one day saying: 'Hello Siri, make the void clean the living room and the kitchen,' Apple responds to its prayers. Well, at least if you have one of the eligible robot vacuum cleaners.
With iOS 18.4, the last Apple software, which is being implemented at this time along with ipados 18.4, macOS sequoia 15.4, tvos 18.4 and homepods software-upple home can now play the robot robot of eligible matter and control
It has been a long time, to say the least.
Apple first promised that the support for these intelligent domestic cleaners would arrive at the end of 2024, but it took a little longer, four months exactly. Even so, the support is here with the last release.
So what does this mean? Well, if you have a compatible model of those three brands, you can add your Robot's vacuum to your Apple house and control it from there or even integrate it into an existing automation.
That last means that you could configure a routine for your vacuum cleaner to start a session when you leave the house on Wednesdays to make sure that when you return, the floor is clean.
In addition, within Apple Home Oa through Siri of really any Apple device, you can ask the robot vacuum cleaner to clean a specific room or request its status. Now, you may have to update your robot vacuum cleaner. Roborock announced many firmware updates today that will allow the models to work with Apple Home when they deploy in early April 2025. That includes the Roborock S8 Maxv Ultra, Saros Z70, Saros 10, Saros 10R, Qrevo Curv, Qrevo Edge and Qrevo Master.
Ecovacs and Irobot models will probably also require software updates, and we will update it when we listen more about them. Regardless of whether an update is required, it is excellent to see Apple fulfill its promise to implement the Apple Home Robot vacuum support, and will really strengthen the smart house offer.
Of course, we are still waiting for Siri infused with AI as part of Apple Intelligence, which could make intelligent domestic control even better, but that will come to 'in the next year'. It is likely to have to arrive before the Smart Home screen, also known as a Homepod with a screen, with which I and many others dream, if it ever arrives.
