June 19, 2025, Shanghai: The GSMA and Malaysia Communications and Multimedia (MCMC) commission signed an agreement today during the MWC25 Shanghai confirming that Kuala Lumpur will organize two GSMA flagship events: A Digital Nation Summit on September 23, 2025 and the flagship M360 ASEAN 2026 next year.
M360 ASEAN is a new event, which evolves from the APAC M360 series of GSMA, sharpening its focus on the Association of Priorities of Digital Transformation of Nations of Southeast Asia (ASEAN) in line with the strategic ambitions of the region. GSMA M360 events draw the broader mobile ecosystem (operators, technology suppliers, new companies, investors and companies) to explore issues such as 5G, Fintech, IoT and emerging technologies that can translate political ambitions to the impact of the real world.
The next Digital Nation Summit at the end of this year will serve as a strategic advance for the M360 flagship event, which brings together ministers, regulators and industry leaders to share the best practices to build inclusive, safe and sustainable digital societies, which establishes the policy bases for the next growth wave of the region.
The two events will be closely aligned with the long -term vision of the region: “Asean 2045: our shared future,“ Adopted by leaders of the ten nations of Southeast Asia at the 46ᵗʰ Summit in May. Kuala Lumpur's statement requires a resistant, innovative and centered community for 2045, with strategic priorities that cover domains of political, economic, sociocultural and connectivity security. The center of this vision is the role of digital transformation and regional integration to boost inclusive and sustainable growth.
