Once again, generating more than one billion euros of economic impact, MWC25 also created more than 13,000 part -time jobs
June 13, 2025, London – MWC25 Barcelona contributed an estimate of 561 million euros to the economy of Barcelona, according to a recently published economic impact report commissioned by the GSMA. MWC25 created more than 13,000 part -time jobs, marking another year of growth in local employment and reinforcing the state of the event as an important taxpayer to the economy of Catalonia.
This is an increase in the economic impact of MWC24 that contributed 502 million euros. Since MWC first arrived in the city in 2006, has generated a total economic contribution of € 6.9billion and 173,000 part -time jobs. This year's edition once again confirmed the MWC position as the world's main connectivity event, attracting political leaders, industry leaders, investors and innovative. In four days full in March, more than 109,000 attendees from 205 countries and territories joined to shape the future of connectivity.
MWC Barcelona 2025 for the numbers:

- The GSMA Ministerial Program summoned 188 delegations from 148 countries and 40 intergovernmental organizations, 66 ministers and 111 heads of regulatory authorities
- 4yfn welcomed more than 1,000 startup exhibitors, almost 380 speakers and more than 900 investors with collective funds for a total of 60 billion euros
- 56% of attendees representing industries adjacent to the central mobile ecosystem
- 21% of C-Suite attendees; 50% Director and Higher Level; 27% of female attendees
- More than 2,900 journalists and industry analysts around the world
- 182,450 media stories generated worldwide during the event

A legacy throughout the year
Beyond the annual week of the event in spring, the impact of MWC continues to offer throughout the year and is helping to establish Barcelona as a global technological center. The programs enabled by the success of MWC have contributed to the evolution of Barcelona towards its position as one of the main technology centers in Europe.
These include Mobile world capital and its recently released event, Talent Arena, which is designed to shape the future of digital talent, as well as 4yfn which has empowered new companies in the global mobile industry for more than 10 years.
He MSCHOOLS PROGRAMA public-private partnership with GSMA, mobile world capital, the Department of Catalan Education and the Barcelona City Council, is a global community of teachers, researchers and policy formulators committed to promoting change in education. Since their establishment, 390,000 students, 14,000 teachers and 2,700 schools have participated.
He MWC donation room This year contributed 9.3 million tons of different materials, such as carpet and wood, as well as 17 tons of furniture to cultural projects and social schemes in Barcelona. These articles were reused from MWC25 to have a second life through their use by 23 non -profit community organizations and social entities in the cities of Barcelona and Hospitalet de Llobregat. The initiative is an integral part of the GSMA Environmental Program And a collaboration between the City Council of Barcelona, the City Council of L'Hospitalet, the Foundation of Barcelona Formació i Treball, GSMA, Fira de Barcelona and Barcelona Tourism Consortium.

The economic impact of MWC is calculated through an integral model, validated by independent experts, which explains direct, indirect and induced contributions. These include visitors spending, employment creation and increased government income.
