GSMA | GSMA MWC Barcelona 2024 closes with more than 101,000 attendees


MWC Barcelona brought together connectivity leaders from 205 countries and territories, exploring industry topics such as AI, the usage gap, GSMA Open Gateway and the investment gap.

February 29, 2024, Barcelona: GSMA MWC Barcelona 2024 concluded after four days of vibrant discussions and networking, convening industry leaders and attendees from across the mobile ecosystem.

MWC Barcelona is without a doubt the largest and most influential connectivity event in the world thanks to its unique combination of exhibition, conference and the largest gathering of policymakers who make the digital economy possible.

MWC Barcelona 2024 in numbers

  • More than 101,000 unique in-person attendees from 205 countries and territories
  • More than 59% of attendees represent industries adjacent to the core mobile ecosystem.
  • More than 2,700 exhibitors, sponsors and partners
  • More than 1,100 speakers and opinion leaders, of which more than 40% are women
  • 51% of management level attendees and above, of which 21% were C-Suite
  • 26% female attendees
  • More than 2,600 journalists and industry analysts from around the world.
  • The GSMA Ministerial Program brought together more than 180 delegations from 140 countries, including 2 heads of state, more than 70 ministers, almost 120 heads of regulatory authorities and more than 40 intergovernmental organizations.
  • 4YFN, which this year celebrated its tenthth anniversary edition, welcomed 930 exhibitors, 450 speakers and more than 1,000 investors with collective funds for a total of 50,000 million euros
  • MWC Barcelona has been certified carbon neutral for 10 years. And this year, use of the free public transportation pass given to all MWC attendees increased 42% compared to last year. With the GSMA Environmental Program we aim to minimize the environmental footprint of the MWC
  • So far, more than 400,000 unique viewers of the presentations and live sessions on the MWC Barcelona website, Mobile World Live and associated platforms and media.
  • Talent Arena, a new MWCapital program, celebrated its first edition at the MWC with a 48-hour Open Gateway Hackathon and professionals from more than 400 companies

MWC Barcelona inaugurates the GSMA's annual calendar of events. Join us as we continue our journey to unite industries, technologies and communities to realize the potential of the future at MWC Shanghai between June 26-28, 2024; followed by MWC Las Vegas from October 8 to 10, 2024; and MWC Kigali from October 29 to 31, 2024. MWC Barcelona 2025 returns to Fira between March 3 and 6, 2025.

The M360 series begins with M360 Eurasia, which returns to Baku between May 15 and 16, 2024; followed by M360 LATAM in Mexico City from June 5 to 6, 2024; M360 APAC in Seoul between October 1 and 2, 2024; and M360 MENA in Doha from November 18 to 19, 2024.
