Fortect may not be one of the most important names when it comes to the best antivirus and security, but this German business demands attention thanks to an ethos that rewards transparency, trust and empowerment of the user.
All are good qualities when they try to identify their next security software, and it means that we are eager to evaluate the specific antivirus credentials of the company in this review.
If you need a free antivirus product, Fortect has an available option, but it is very limited. You can see and solve the problems one by one using a manual repair system, but automatic repairs are only compatible with the product paid versions.
The Fortect paid antivirus module is within a wider product called PC Suite, which also includes a list of PC adjustment, optimization and repair tools along with safety features.
The most affordable paid product of Fortect, essential, protects a system for a year and includes all the main characteristics of the application for $ 38.
Update the multiple devices plan for $ 47 and will obtain unlimited annual use for three devices. The final product, which costs $ 65, includes licenses for five devices.
Those single device plans and three devices have a reasonable price, but the final product feels a bit expensive: Norton 360 Deluxe supports five devices for $ 49, for example, and you can get Sofos Home Premium Protection for ten devices for $ 44.99.
Fortect: interface
The installation is easy and, once it is complete, Fortect is executed through an integral scan of the system. Because this is a PC suite instead of only an antivirus scanner, its results described a series of problems, but Foract was integral when addressing security: it detected a wide range of possible privacy problems, for example.
Take beyond that initial scan and Fortect has one of the best interfaces we have seen in a PC safety and adjustment application.
It is modern and mature, with blue blue tones at all times, and the board has a huge “ignition” button that starts a complete system scan.
The main page has indicators to see if malware and real -time protection are activated, and on the left side there are links to performance, safety, privacy, privacy and VPN modules of the application.
Deepen the security section and can implement rapid and personalized scans and alternate malware and real -time protection, and drag and release folders and files for personalized scans.
In the security configuration menu you can enable real -time protection, cloud -based analysis and navigation shield, which blocks harmful sites. You can also customize the frequency of safety reports and adjust file quarantine configuration.
The application's privacy module includes the cleaning of browser cache and a unique tool that allows users to eliminate traces of their system's office applications. You are also invited to install an effective and free extension of the Chrome browser that monitors your navigation activity and highlights any problem.
Fortect: Antivirus and protection
The Fortect Antivirus module offers malware protection and web browser in real time, integral scan for malware and unwanted applications, and cloud -based technology that provides the application updates of new and emerging threats.
The application automatically corrects and eliminates threats, repairs its system if it becomes unstable and can be used to create system restoration points. Malicious files, folders and applications can also be put in quarantine.
The Macos de Fortect version also includes real -time protection, cloud -based safety, complete system scan, quarantine management and detailed security reports, and their Android and iOS applications include all those skills together with networks of networks, blocking of websites, data violations and a systems advisor.
To access these characteristics on multiple devices, you will have to pay one of the most expensive levels that admits the use of multiple devices.
Most of the antivirus products that we cover have been tested independently by Av-Company and Av Test, or an alternative of good reputation such as Labs.
Unfortunately, none of these organizations has evaluated Fortect, so we are resorting to the newsletter and the sting of virus.
Virusbulletin is a global authority in the antivirus industry and has been testing safety software of consumers and companies for more than two decades. Virusbulletin publications include reports from the main researchers and details about new threats, and the archives date back to 1989.
The VB100 certification of Virusbulletin is granted to applications that “comply with the basic standards necessary to be recognized as legitimate and functional antimalware solutions correctly.” Fortect has won that certification with a grade A result, with 99.19% of malware detected and only 0.007% false positives.
APPESTEEM certifies the applications used by the protocols of the organization of malware test standards to provide consumers to see what applications offer effective antivirus performance without false positives and too aggressive monetization tactics.
The Appesteem test saw Fortect qualified as a contender, with an 88% rating for deception and an approval mark of 94% for certification. That is not the best score and it means that I probably see some additional sales attempts in this application, and we can answer for that, since when installing we presented an offer to update to a multiple device application.
Avast, AVG, Sophos and others applications provided a cleaner experience than Fortect, but Malwarebytes, Bitdefender and Norton tools received poorer grades, so Fortect is not the worst criminal here, and should not let the occasional special offer discourage him.
Fortect: Other features
As Fortect Antivirus, it is included in a wider PC suite, that means that it obtains a solid range of additional characteristics in the application.
Fortect's performance scan identifies blocked garbage and applications that can slow down its PC down, and the application also has an update of controllers that will ensure that your system is always updated.
However, these PC performance characteristics are not particularly extensive, and many features are missing in other places if it compares Fortect with applications such as Norton 360 and Sofos Home Premium.
Norton, for example, included an unlimited VPN, dark web monitoring, parents controls, a password administrator and a private browser. Sofos had a deeper web filtering. None of that is available with Fortect.
Support options are also disappointing. If you need help with Fortect, you can complete a web form and get an answer within 48 hours, below the industry standard in 2025. Norton has chat support options and live telephone and payment options for more extensive help, and Sofos has chat options.
It is worth mentioning that Fortect is a slightly different product for these two rivals: it is concentrated in the optimization and safety of the PC. But given the price parity among all these tools, it makes the Value proposal of Fortect look a bit disappointing.
Fortect: Final verdict
The antivirus tests that we have found indicate that Fortect does an excellent job by protecting the devices of the latest threats.
That said, your lack of evidence of our favorite trial sites means that we are reluctant to give a sincere recommendation compared to the tools they have obtained well in a broader range of trial services.
There is no doubt that this application is an elegant and easy -to -use tool: it has an excellent interface with a direct design and a sensible organization. But that means that Fortect lacks the in -depth adjustment and customization options that are common in tools that will attract a more technical audience.
However, it goes beyond its central functionality of antivirus and PC performance, and there is not much on offer compared to other tools: rivals include VPN, password administrators, parents' controls and more, along with a better support.
Fortect can do a good job with antivirus skills, but rivals offer more functionality and personalization. Fortect is not bad, but there are better options available.
