The best distributions of Raspberry Pi have long been a favorite between fans and DIY enthusiasts, but at $ 120 for the latest Raspberry Pi 5 16GB model, executing one is not necessarily the value proposition that once was.
But, for a little more, you can buy a mini PC with AMD Ryzen food that offers formidable performance without breaking the bank.
I found three mini pc on Amazon below $ 180, which can be a bit larger, but they will also give it more for their money.
Mini PC yield
The Beelink GTR5 has a price below $ 180 (although temporarily exhausted at the time of publication, it is worth a desire list), the Genmachine mini costs $ 178.99 (with a 5% discount at the time of Write) and the Bosgame E2 Mini PC is listed $ 239.99, but a coupon of $ 60 reduces to $ 179.99.
These are not low power weak machines. All are driven by the AMD Ryzen 5 3550h, a 4-core and 8 sub-party processor with a 3.7GHz Turbo Max clock, which makes them much superior to the N-Series of Intel entry level chips.
The Beelink GTR5 includes a 500 GB SAT SSD, while the Genmachine and Bosgame E2 come with SSD NVME in the 500 GB region of storage that offer data transfer speeds without compromises.
All these products are sent with 16 GB of RAM DDR4 and Fast Sata SSD storage, with an expansion slot M.2 NVME for additional storage.
For Bells and Whistles, Radeon Vega 8 GPU of GTR5 handles 4K video playback and multiple monitors support is standard, thanks to HDMI, Displayport and USB-C exit. The GTR5 also goes one more step with a digital fingerprint reader for safe session and a double fan cooling system to keep temperatures under control.
Meanwhile, the Bosgame E2 and Genmachine focus on computing without luxuries, with a radeon 770m or simply integrated graphics, respectively. This could be left wanting more, but you are looking for a compact workstation and capable with a budget comparable to PI 5 more expensive, then I don't think you do much better.
