Ever-enthusiastic DJI leaker @Quadro_News has shared a screenshot provided by @MauroTandoi on X (formerly Twitter) that seemingly shows the rumored DJI Air 3S in DJI's Fly app (see below).
I couldn't find the same product when searching in the app, so it may have already been removed. However, if the Air 3S did indeed appear in the app, it would seemingly confirm the existence of the rumored mid-range consumer drone.
@Quadro_News has also tentatively suggested that the drone, which could replace the Air 2S and Air 3, will hit stores sometime next month, following DJI’s next product which is reportedly set to be the Osmo Action 5 Pro, which was officially announced last week in DJI’s ‘A Pro Rises’ video on X with a September 19 release date.

Other DJI leakers have suggested that the Air 3S release date could be even earlier than October, with one trailer detailing an announcement for September 25. We can’t verify whether this is legitimate, and while that date seems unlikely, Air 3S leaks have been gaining momentum, suggesting that it might not be too long until DJI’s next drone is in our hands.
Mid-range magic?
There’s been a steady stream of DJI Air 3S leaks suggesting the mid-range drone will enjoy everything from LiDAR, which would be a first for one of DJI’s consumer-level drones and could help improve flight performance, to a camera upgrade with one of its two cameras backed by a larger 1-inch sensor, which would be an upgrade from the twin 1/1.3-inch sensors on the excellent Air 3.
If DJI is indeed preparing to announce an Air 3S, it would be a change of course for the drone giant despite its looming ban in the US. It would follow the excellent DJI Neo as an attractive all-round drone based on the Air 3’s design for those looking for a little more power and camera versatility but who aren’t put off by the extra requirements and restrictions that come with a drone weighing more than 250g (its likely C1 rating in Europe requires completing an A2 certificate of competency).
We currently consider the DJI Air 3 to be the best all-round drone from DJI, and indeed from any drone manufacturer. Naturally, news of a successor generates a lot of excitement among drone fans, especially with rumors of updates. However, I’m pouring some maple syrup on the rumors and timeline for now, because I feel like they’re based on speculation and I’m yet to see the level of detail in leaks that usually suggests its arrival is imminent.
