They say good things come to those who wait, and after years of being stuck looking the same, Destiny 2 Players will soon be able to change the appearance of their Guardian, thankfully without spending a dime.
The news was revealed during the last This Week In Destination blog post, which was published yesterday (January 18). Although no specific release date was provided for the feature, players can expect it to arrive sometime before then. The final form expansion, which is scheduled for release on June 4.
“Let's see if this sounds familiar: you created a very edgy Awakened when you were a teenager. Maybe you chose some unfortunate markings on your Human's face, or didn't coordinate the colors of your Exo's mouth and eyes. Or maybe your character's body type no longer represents who you are,” the blog post begins.
“No matter the reason, you will be able to change the appearance of your Guardian when character customization is available in an update before the release of The final form. To do so, you will only need to start Destiny 2 and you'll notice a new option when you hover over a character on the character selection screen.”
Not only will the feature be free to use, but players will also be able to use it as many times as they want. However, while you can change your hair, face, body type, and markings freely, you won't be able to change origins, so if you have a Human Guardian, for example, you can't turn them into an Exo.
For Destiny 2 Fashion enthusiasts, it was also confirmed that the Synthweave reward cap will be reset in March. Synthweave is the resource used to alter the appearance of your equipment, which can be obtained in limited quantities for free (or by paying real money). This should help players customize their appearance even more, which is pretty cool.
