While right now you can also pick up the base Core i5 model for just $599, we'd highlight the Core i7 configuration in particular as a better buy of the two. With this one you not only get a comparatively robust chipset (more than enough for most tasks), but this configuration also comes with a full set of 16GB of RAM. We'd consider 16GB of RAM almost essential if you plan to tackle heavier workloads with your laptop.
Of course, the main selling point of the Dell XPS 13 remains its exceptional design, high-end build quality, and extremely slim form factor. Our Dell XPS 13 (2022) review praised all of these factors and gave this model four stars out of five. However, the almost unbeatable thinness has a trade-off in the form of a slightly more limited port selection with the only two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports.
Still, if you're looking for a premium Windows laptop at a good price that can handle a wide range of tasks, we recommend this one for $799. It's also very likely the best price this side of upcoming laptop sales President's Day in February.
