January 27, 2026, Barcelona: CircuitX is proud to announce an exciting line-up of technology partners for its debut at the iconic Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Sunday, March 1 before taking the stage at MWC26 Barcelona from March 2-5. CircuitX is an innovative three-year initiative designed to champion mobile technology in motorsports and transform the circuit experience with connectivity.

CircuitX will feature leading partners showcasing advanced technology and connectivity solutions, including Al Kamel, backed by Semtech & Domo Broadcast Systems, Barcelona Drone Center, Elmo, Ericsson, Formula E, Into Reality, MatSing, NTT Data, Prospeed and Telefónica.

CircuitX was launched last year during MWC25 Barcelona by GSMA's innovation center, GSMA Foundry; Fira Circuit, an entity managed by Fira de Barcelona and the public-private foundation Mobile World Capital that promotes the digital development of society. The initiative aims to turn the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya into a center of next-generation motorsports innovation and experiences.

Demonstrations at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and MWC26 Barcelona will feature leading motorsport teams and technology collaborators to showcase remote-controlled vehicles, in-race telemetry, live streaming, drone safety measures, as well as immersive augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) experiences for fans.

To enable all demonstrations at both the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and MWC26 Barcelona, Telefónica has joined the initiative as an official connectivity partner, providing 5G network coverage in both locations. CircuitX partners and demos are:

  • Al Kamel will showcase how ultra-low latency networks transform racing operations, from instant incident detection and dynamic racing strategies, providing a glimpse into the future of motorsports precision management supported by Semtech and Domo Broadcast Systems.
  • Barcelona Drone Center will showcase drones for crowd monitoring, emergency response and perimeter security, leveraging advanced unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) technology and regulatory expertise critical for modern smart places.
  • elmo will demonstrate real-time vehicle teledriving over public 5G networks, including stable remote operation at higher driving speeds, enabled by network quality APIs that ensure low latency, reliability and continuity of service for the control of safety-critical vehicles.
  • erickson brings its proprietary 5G expertise to deliver a secure, high-performance network tailored to the device mobility demands of motorsports environments, essential for telemetry, video streaming and safety-critical systems.
  • Formula E will showcase innovations in sustainability-driven racing, integrating connectivity to improve telemetry and fan engagement. The Gen3 EVO Formula E race car demonstrates its capabilities on the track, capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.82 seconds.
  • In reality will develop interactive AR/VR environments that allow fans to participate in virtual racing experiences.
  • MatSingA pioneer in RF lens antenna technology, it will demonstrate its patented solution trusted by the world's largest venues and events to deliver high-capacity, high-performance wireless coverage that enhances fan experiences, supports real-time communications, and ensures reliable connectivity in every corner of the venue.
  • NTT DATA will showcase AI-enabled applications, including solutions that improve operations and safety, as well as mobile applications that leverage live data and AI-powered insights to deliver a digital experience to fans, both on and off-site.
  • Speed will demonstrate video streaming and a qualifying system, including telemetry data streaming, from a Porsche Cup safety car used in the Porsche One-Make Series taking place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
  • Telephone will provide the 5G connectivity backbone that will allow all demos to run at the CircuitX and MWC showcase.

CircuitX moves from the track to the theater to appear at MWC26 Barcelona (March 2-5) in the CircuitX Demo Zone in Hall 6, where attendees can explore interactive demo modules, live sessions on our partners' New Frontiers stage and get a glimpse of a Formula E Gen3 Evo, the zero-carbon electric racing car known for its extreme efficiency and performance.

John Hoffman, CEO of GSMA Ltd.saying: “CircuitX is more than a showcase; it is a model for the future of connected experiences. By integrating mobile technology into motorsports and entertainment, GSMA and its partners aim to set new standards for safety, efficiency and fan engagement. MWC26 Barcelona provides the perfect stage to demonstrate these groundbreaking innovations, bringing together the global technology community to witness first-hand how interoperability can be achieved with emerging technologies such as satellites and drones. This reinforces the critical role of mobile connectivity as a catalyst. for continuous innovation.

Francesc Fajula de Quintana, CEO of Mobile World Capital, stated: This partnership allows Mobile World Capital to do what we do best: mobilize talent and technology to achieve real impact. Through our digital talent programs, we will support retraining and new skills on the circuit, connect CircuitX with Barcelona's technology ecosystem and showcase its progress at MWC, 4YFN and Talent Arena, demonstrating how innovation transforms everyday life..”

Ignasi Armengol, General Director of the Fira Circuit, said:CircuitX is a new example of how Fira Circuit aims to go beyond the limits of our circuit and turn it into an innovation center capable of transforming companies and industries through collaboration with world-class events such as MWC Barcelona. This underlines how the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is a unique space that drives new opportunities that link disruptive technologies with mobility, motorsports and live events..”

CircuitX's three-year project will cover five core areas to highlight where mobile connectivity can support innovation in motorsports and large-scale events, including:

  • Travel and navigation: Real-time travel management and traffic optimization.
  • Safety and security: Improved emergency communication and crowd monitoring.
