It's been absent since Canva launched ten years ago; Now, the company is finally introducing an enterprise-grade tier to its design platform.
Aiming to meet the demands of larger organizations, Canva Enterprise builds on the platform's graphic design toolset to improve internal and external visual communications. Or, to put it another way, make presentations and data more attractive and readable.
The business-focused subscription plan isn't the only new feature introduced at this year's Canva Create, with new design assets created for a variety of departments and teams and an improved interface set to launch in August.
What's new in Canva?
While Canva has earned a reputation as one of the best free graphic design programs, in recent years it has done a lot to break out of the marketing and social media departments that have made it its home. With the opening of a new European headquarters and the introduction of Visual Worksuite, a one-stop shop for businesses, complete with word processor and website builder, the company has made no secret of its intention to court larger companies.
So what can we expect from Canva Enterprise? Beyond existing features, the new plan enables businesses to grow with secure and scalable cloud storage solutions, while consolidating artificial intelligence, collaboration tools and content creation. New brand controls will allow organizations to manage assets, from what's on the page to who can share and view it. Canva also promises a number of security features. And, for businesses concerned about using AI for professional use, the company said it will also “include compensation for AI-generated content for eligible customers.”
“As demand for visual content increases, navigating organizational complexity is more challenging than ever. “We democratized the design ecosystem in our first decade and now look forward to unifying the fragmented ecosystems of design, artificial intelligence and workflow tools for every organization in our second decade,” said Melanie Perkins, co-founder and CEO of Canva.
In addition to Canva Enterprise, come Canva Work Kits. These new tools are designed for sales, marketing, creative and human resources departments. With cited uses for presentations, job postings, content calendars and brand strategy documents, the fully customizable brand kits allow users to create “templates, from presentations to documents, designed to allow teams to scale their production with tools easy access”. .” And to help users get on board, Canva Courses is designed to help transform existing designs into interactive courses for workplace learning.
Also keep an eye out for August, when the design platform will also receive a slight facelift. The “brightness,” as Canva put it, will put more useful tools at hand, add customizable home pages, and give users more space to create by removing the ever-present sidebar from view when not in use.
