Assassin's Creed Shadows I just got a brand new trailer combining story and gameplay at the Xbox Games Showcase as part of the Summer Game Fest 2024 event.
This latest trailer, which debuted ahead of Ubisoft's presentation on June 11, gave us another look at the Japanese feudal setting and the journey of the game's two protagonists: Naoe Fujibayashi and Yasuke.
This is one of the first looks at the game, showing Naoe's penchant for stealth and sabotage, mixed with Yasuke's ferocious environmental-destroying power. All this is contrasted with a magnificent environmental design as we are used to seeing from the Assassin's Creed series.
Judging by the game's trailer, Naoe plays like a classic. Assassin's Creed protagonist, similar to Altair and Ezio. He is incredibly agile and seems to seamlessly transition from kills to movement. Everything looks incredibly smooth and bodes well for fans of the early entries in the series.
Meanwhile, Yasuke seems to be adopting the latter's more aggressive style. Assassin's Creed Role-playing games focused on hard-hitting combat. His fighting style appears incredibly brutal, as well as being able to stun enemies into intimidation with a scream. The trailer shows that he will also be able to equip different types of weapons, including an odachi (basically a huge katana) and a polearm.
Assassin's Creed Shadows will be released on November 15, 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC. A full reveal of the game will be shown at the Ubisoft Forward presentation, taking place tomorrow, June 10. Hopefully this will give us a much deeper dive into Darkness' various systems including combat and character progression.
