- Samsung One UI 8.5 images have leaked
- Some visual changes and floritures are visible
- It is not clear when the software can be implemented
With the update of Samsung One UI 8 (based on Android 16) it is now implemented on Galaxy phones and tablets worldwide, we have what seems to be a preview of the Big One UI 8.5 update that will be on the road.
The software images have appeared in Sammyguru and show some significant changes in the user interface. The configuration pages have more compact menu elements, the search bar is down at the bottom and there are gradient effects on the edges.
With some shadows of fall also added, the general impression is of an interface that is a little easier for the eyes and with a little more on the path of visual floriture. Other adjustments include a setback button that floats on the rest of the interface.
As Sammyguru pointed out, some of these changes are somewhat similar to what we have seen of Apple with iOS 26, but imitation is not too atrocious, this still looks a lot like a mobile operating system made by Samsung.
Leaks and betas

What we do not obtain here are indications of new characteristics or functions that could be introduced with an UI 8.5. Since the version number only jumps by 0.5, we may not see much in terms of updates.
Before an official test and beta test phase, we will undoubtedly see several leaks: Android Authority has already seen a characteristic of UI 8.5 that seems designed to prevent seizures caused by photosensitive epilepsy.
Nor are there indications that this software can begin to appear on phones and tablets, although Samsung has increased the rhythm of its UI updates in recent months, with Oneui 8 following quickly from an IU 7.
The ONE UI 8 software made its debut with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 foldable, and is now being implemented on Galaxy S25 phones. After that, it will reach older devices in the coming weeks.
