TO BioShock 4 A screenshot has apparently leaked online, giving us what could be our first look at the game since its announcement.
First spotted by MP1st, the in-game screenshot appears to give us our first clear look at developer Cloud Chamber's next installment, codenamed Next to the park – in it Bioshock series.
According to the report, the screenshot is from an early demo version of the game featured in a 2021 presentation video. In it, we can see a simple HUD with a skill wheel at the bottom left with LB and RB icons indicating certain actions. From their respective designs, it seems like there could be powers related to magnetism and lighting, as well as a compass mechanic.
There's also a health bar, and what could be a plasmid, vigor, or power bar of some sort, along with another icon that looks like a sand timer that could correlate to a power the player will have; perhaps something to do with time.
As for the weapon, the text on the bottom right identifies it as a “Ricochet Shotgun” with glowing blue elements.
The rest of the images are a little less clear, but we can clearly see a tall, shiny structure, or tower, with what appears to be a statue of the sun on top. It's certainly reminiscent of the lighthouses from the opening scenes of the first one. Bioshock games, which play a major role in their prologues and where the player ends up.
Considering the game is still in active development, it's very likely that the assets are a work in progress and we can expect a lot of things to potentially change before the full reveal.
We don't have a release date for BioShock 4 for now, but Cloud Chamber recently confirmed it was “accelerating” development after sharing a set of new job postings.
