María Cornejo continued her affinity for polished silhouettes for fall 2024, offering a range of classic dresses, separates and outerwear that fit the minimalist aesthetic of her luxury clientele.
“The collection is the idea of a wardrobe and removing the layers,” Cornejo said. “The idea is to be more armed, but I didn't wear a suit because the reality is that our wife doesn't wear a suit. I mean, they look really cute and I love the jackets, but most women don't.”
The collection offered many classic silhouettes that embodied easy femininity, such as several draped dresses created in jewel tones such as emerald and golden yellow, as well as rugged outerwear made from leather and wool.
Continuing the designer's commitment to sustainability, the collection was created using a variety of environmentally friendly materials, such as recycled cashmere, circular denim and eco-draping, created from recycled materials.
The collection's use of black and jewel tones, along with classic silhouettes, gave the styles a luxurious feel. The designer focused on one print this season, which was inspired by a wall full of posters at Cornejo's local Bedstuy subway station, which gave the mature styles a bold, fun twist.
Cornejo also revised her archives for fall 2024, updating a dress style she designed in 1998 with new colors. He offered a new version of his leather and wool double-breasted coat, as the style has become a best-seller among his clientele.
Overall, the collection showcased Cornejo's understanding of her luxury clientele and how to create classic, polished pieces from a variety of sustainable materials.
