Vogue to host a big party ahead of the Olympics with Pharrell Williams

As the Olympic Games approach, initiatives are multiplying, in particular around LVMH, the premium partner of the event, which will be held in Paris from 26 July to 11 August. On 25 July, the eve of the opening ceremony, Vogue is organising a big party at the Louis Vuitton Foundation, with a host of stars, including athletes, artists and musicians, and the management team of the luxury giant.

Among those in attendance will be the chairman of the world's number one luxury goods company Bernard Arnault; Brian Roberts, CEO of US media conglomerate Comcast NBCUniversal; pop star Pharrell Williams, who also heads Louis Vuitton's menswear collections; and Anna Wintour, global editorial director of Vogue and editorial content at Condé Nast, who have joined forces to present an exceptional “Prélude” evening, the fashion magazine announced.

Other celebrities expected to appear at Frank Gehry's impressive building in the Bois de Boulogne include former tennis champion Serena Williams, singer Rosalía, American actress Charlize Theron and French actor Omar Sy.

“I am honored to co-host this very special event alongside Anna Wintour, Mr. Arnault and Brian Roberts,” Pharrell Williams said in a statement. “The Olympic Games are a celebration of diversity, humanity and creativity – everything that unites us as human beings. This major event is a humbling reminder that what unites us is stronger than what divides us.”

The evening is already shaping up to be memorable “with an Olympic-themed theme park, interactive installations and all kinds of sports-inspired games, including table tennis, foosball, archery and basketball, designed by Pharrell Williams,” Vogue reports, adding that the kitchen will be run by Michelin-starred chef Jean Imbert.

The luxury group continues to dominate the Olympic media landscape. According to a survey by media monitoring specialist Onclusive, cited by the website The Media Leader, LVMH emerged as one of the most mentioned sponsors of the Games between April and May.
