The luxury fashion brand Vivienne Westwood will organize its first fashion parade in India in The Gateway of India in Mumbai on April 1.
The show will be organized in association with the Textile Department, the Government of Maharashtra and Vivz Fashion School.
Vivienne Westwood will exhibit a collection created with the Indian silks and Khadi cotton tissues by natural hand and wool of all India provided by India Khadi.
“Vivienne Westwood has long defended crafts and heritage, using handmade fabrics within their collections. By working and promoting artisans and small heritage production, Vivienne Westwood is proud to promote more sustainable forms of environmentally sustainable production and support traditional qualified jobs and communities around her,” said a statement of the brand.
The fabrics used for the collection have been obtained from several regions of India and created by Indian artisans using traditional techniques.
