The Virgil Archive Obloh, in collaboration with Nike, announced on Thursday the launch of its first major European exhibition dedicated to the work of the late virgil Ulh.
Nicknamed “Virgil pop: The Codes”, the exhibition opens in what would have been the 45th birthday of Obloh, on September 30, and extends until October 10 at the Grand Palais in Paris.
From the wide file of 20,000 designer objects, the codes will present hundreds of pieces, including prototypes, garments, footwear, sketches, photographs and personal items.
Commissioned by Chloe Sultan and Mahfuz Sultan, the show is based on the virgil pop 2022: the Codes exhibition and expands it through their work in clothing, footwear, architecture, music, advertising and more. The exhibition also explores Obloh's collaborations with several artists, designers and athletes.
“This exhibition is only the beginning of our work to share the legacy and the principles of Virgil with the creative community and the broader world,” said Shannon Obloh, executive director and managing director of Virgil Ulh Securities, founder and president of the Board of the Virgil Aloh Foundation, president and president of Virgil Ulh Archive.
“Sharing your personal collection, unfinished projects and Opuses Magnum with the public is how we celebrate Virgil's legacy and his commitment to make information accessible and collaborative. Through the file, Virgil will live as a source of inspiration and lighthouse of creative knowledge.”
In addition to the exhibition, a series of publications and public programs will be carried out throughout the execution, including workshops, performances, projections and dialogues live with voices of the global creative community of Obloh.
“It is an honor in the two decades stage of Virgil's work in Paris. This exhibition in Grand Palais is a kind of return home, a love letter to the city that inspired him more and molded his practice so much. Virgil Ulh Archive Sultan, director of Virgil Ulh Archive.
