“I'm very happy to be back on my heels,” Victoria Beckham said in a previous interview while presenting her favorite cruise collection to date.
The British designer broke her foot in the gym a few months ago, but now she's getting ready to strut and dance this holiday season in impeccable tailoring, flowy lingerie, Grecian draping and alluring lace.
For her cruise programming, Beckham thought about the season and the questions her clients ask themselves, the same questions she asks herself.
“For me, during that time of year, I want to wear a tuxedo if I'm going to a party,” Beckham said, explaining that she designs for herself and the women who shop at her brand.
He turned the classic white dress shirt into a bib with a collar that revealed a slip of skin modeled by Libby Bennett, which closely resembles the androgynous models used in the work of Helmut Newton.
Beckham added elements of men's loungewear to the tailoring, the lapel in a silk fabric and loose ties around the waist as a nod to a robe.
There was also plenty of color, including mint green, baby blue, bright caramel, deep purple, and light lavender. Lightweight knitwear, a growing category for the business, was subtly layered under bomber or denim jackets.
“Before the start of my brand, I really had a strong point of view [on color]Beckham said.
Those same tones from the clothing carry over to the bags, including an evening bag, a crossbody bag, and a tote bag. The company's handbag arm has recently relaunched with an entirely new team and a rigorous strategy.
“The pouches have done phenomenally well, especially the B-frame pouch that's also on the belts,” Beckham said.
The collection also addressed lingerie elements with open back, off the shoulder and sheer black lace making it a classic Christmas party dress.
Earlier this month, the designer's brand made its debut at the Met Gala when “Bridgerton” actress Phoebe Dynevor wore one of his delicate designs inspired by Beckham's 50th wedding dress.
“It's about balance, it's about the dress being elegant, but also very sexy at the same time,” she explained, detailing that the dress was made in a week and, so far, having one of her designs represented at the Met Gala was more of a dream than a reality.
