Fresh from receiving her new title of Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, one of the country's highest honors, Donatella Versace presented a resort 2025 collection that reflected her personal attitude of doing things on her own terms.
Keeping the collection tight, he created a line that was an invitation to express yourself with a touch of boldness, here delivered through a spontaneous approach to dressing and a mix of references ranging from Mod vibes to equestrian tailoring and playful prints.
“I love this vibrant Versace Gang. Preppy punk, a little Mod, elegantly made with acidic colors and prints, cut and layered,” said Versace. “This is the young rebellious attitude that I love with clothes worn in a totally personal way. Take Versace and make it yours.”
Versace focused the collection on a sense of softness and tranquility dictated by luxurious, stretchy textures and simple silhouettes. In the more wintry options, oversized knit sweaters were covered in a Dalmatian or leopard motif, which also appeared on the collars and trims of black tailored jackets that came short or in hourglass shapes. The equestrian reference was also strong in the clothing items, which Versace paired with animal-print stirrup leggings.
Versace's shearling trims and staple safety pins offered a fun, edgy twist to Ladies Who Lunch: herringbone coats and miniskirts, knit sets, and LBD styles crafted in stretch jersey or soft plongé leather.
As the lineup progressed, the understated color palette gave way to pops of vivid red and peridot hues, clearly hinting at summer delivery. Imbued with the same youthful attitude, juicy strawberry prints, ladybug motifs and floral motifs dotted blouses, skirts and dresses twisted and fastened with safety pins. The devoré and richly embroidered iterations of these patterns particularly shined on pencil skirts and sheer slip dresses, which stood out as the collection's best mood lifters.
