Frasers Group appoints Sir Jon Thompson, former chief executive of the Financial Reporting Council, as a non-executive director. Sir Jon Thompson, former chief executive of the Financial Reporting Council, will bring a wealth of experience in governance, reporting and auditing, having led the significant transformation of the FRC following multiple independent audits. Sir Jon's previous roles include Chairman of HS2, Chief Executive of HMRC and Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, where he oversaw major projects and drove major change programmes. – He has also had an impressive career in finance, having held roles as Director General of Finance at the Ministry of Defence, Director General of Corporate Services at the Department for Education and Chief Financial Officer of Ofsted. Before joining the civil service in 2004, Sir Jon held a number of financial and corporate services positions in the public and private sectors.
