As detailed in the announcement, the concession has a duration of six years, extendable up to a maximum of nine years, and extends to approximately 13,600 square meters of land in the inner docks of the Battery Dock, A Coruña.

Last January, the MOP Foundation submitted an application to develop cultural activities in the port area, where it has previously held several exhibitions, including those of Peter Lindbergh, Steven Meisel and Helmut Newton, whose exhibition concluded on May 1.

Pending its next major exhibition, the MOP Foundation plans to open the 'Future Stories' photography exhibition in the silo and establish a bookstore specializing in photography, fashion and design.

Founded in April 2022 as a private non-profit entity, the MOP Foundation aims to “promote and disseminate culture, art and literature, with special attention to audiovisual arts and photography.” In addition, the foundation seeks to make A Coruña internationally known, the birthplace of the Inditex group and location of its headquarters in Arteixo. At the same time, it strives to bring international culture closer to the Galician city. The MOP Foundation also carries out cultural projects and has an educational program related to photography.

In addition to her position as non-executive president of the fashion conglomerate Inditex, Marta Ortega is founder and president of the foundation that bears her name. Meanwhile, Carlos Torretta Echevarría serves as vice president. Torretta, husband of Marta Ortega, joined the Inditex group in 2019, occupying various significant positions within the Zara chain.
